About Tai Chi Fan
Tai Chi Fan is an internal art, combining elegant Tai Chi moves with dynamic fan opening and closing skills, beneficial for boosting brain body balance and health. Fans are available to purchase at the studio. The Fan Tai Chi Qigong practice encourages development of the non-dominant hand (the left hand in right handed people, and vice versa). give your brain a 'Neurobic' workout by making it concentrate on something new.
Now is the perfect time to master the ancient practice of Tai Chi & Qigong, the Chinese system of self-cultivation developed over 3,000 years ago. Lydia's classes are a magical mixture of fun, spirituality, dance, martial arts stretching, rhythm, and classical tai chi forms. Great invigorating Qi - energy workout to music for beginners and all levels. No experience required.
During class, there will be very little discussion or talking because we are learning a new language, an unspoken language of slow, subtle movements. To embody the movements over time, students watch what I do and just follow me. If movements are difficult or painful for you, please only do what is comfortable for you. Our health goal is to experience gentle, slow, fluid, small moves done with mindfulness and intention for cultivating inner peace.
It takes several months to a year depending on your attendance to learn the tai chi essentials and fan form. During that year of courses, you will gain a solid foundation in tai chi skills and principles to promote better balance and to enjoy a peaceful mind and body.
What To Wear
Your clothes should be cotton if possible, loose and comfortable. Tight clothing is not suitable for Tai Chi. In Tai Chi because mobilizing the Qi is an important goal. Qi travels along its meridians (energy channels), which are close to the surface of the skin, so clothing that are tight might restrict the flow of Qi.
Light, flat walking shoes are best for Tai chi.
Personal Qigong Therapy for better energy, mobility and posture alignment sessions by appointments.
