Welcome to Lydia's serene Mastery School of Tai Chi, located a 10 minute walk from the historic center. Nestled within a beautiful private garden of rolling hills and a lotus pond, experience a unique getaway for peace and calm.
Students can experience 1 on 1 personal health coaching, book a private pre wedding or family life coaching event to make achieving your health and fitness goals motivating, relaxing and enjoyable. At the San Miguel tai chi studio, students can join us for some expert tai chi practice with Master Lydia Wong and develop skills in mastery of Qi cultivation. The long term focus is on developing the tai chi meditative flow of peace and inner calm for health and balance.
Learn how to focus the energy of Qi to heal oneself or others. This gentle, Chinese practice of qigong uses tailored, smooth-as-silk movements to access the body's own system of self-healing energy medicine. Just 15-30 minutes a day increases radiance and vitality while improving ones general health. If you recognize how important it is to be in a preventive and longevity mode, you will find this training ideal. It may also be the perfect workshop for you if you are interested in the study of the Eastern arts of internal energy flow and meditation.
If you are experiencing stress or have health issues and want to jump-start your healing and recovery, this training will be of immense help.

Learning tai chi and qigong is a joyful art that requires time to process with lots of humor, patience and dedication. Each class at the san miguel tai chi & yoga studio builds on the yin yang language of chinese moving meditation which is related to your connection to breathing, posture, energy, ease of flow. focus, proprioception exercises for better body awareness and balance. The first step to becoming skilled at working with Qi (your life force energy) is to be able to feel, sense and guide your Qi. You know when you feel joy, energized, exhausted or anxious. So this language of energy is a very natural language that your body speaks.
Now is the perfect time to master the ancient practice of Tai Chi & Qigong, the Chinese system of self-cultivation developed over 3,000 years ago. Lydia's classes are a magical mixture of fun, spirituality, stretching, rhythm, dancing and classical tai chi forms. Great invigorating Qi workout for beginners and all levels.

During class, Lydia will observe you and help you make modifications to place less strain on weakened or painful joints, reducing the chance of injury.
I was after Tai Chi in San Miguel de Allende, and I found Lydia's class in the Park. It turned out to be Tai Chi and more. Through multiple movement and coordination techniques, Lydia helps the student disrupt ingrained societal and habitual brain patterns and encourage increased and sharpened brain function. All of this is conducted in a most pleasant, positive, joyful and supportive class environment that leaves the student
Practical, energetic workout
Lydia is unique then combines hybrid version of styles in a very excellent, thoughtful, strengthening flow. I recommend her work for everybody whether you're a couch potato or a rising athlete you will find her movement processes enjoyable and still challenging.

The Moctezuma Calle 7 street door entrance opens to a long flight of stairs. The studio is located at the very bottom of the vast garden. There are 2 colorful prayer flags along the stairs and stone path that leads you to the studio and the Koi pond.

Class sizes will be limited in order to ensure safe social distancing practice. To reserve your spot, please pre-register with an email confirming dates of attendance. We recommend bringing the yoga mat and props you need with you if possible. Tai Chi professional fans and Bamboo Longevity sticks are available for purchase at the studio.

WHAT TO WEAR
Tai Chi clothing is best made from cotton for comfort, breathability and to avoid overheating. Wear layers during the winter months. Remember that Tai Chi is a moving meditative art and requires a calm heart and mind so Cell phones are not allowed in class, best to also avoid wearing perfume, watch or jewelry. Sneakers are good for tai chi.
