When you start, you might feel like a baby giraffe—a bit wobbly and unsure. That isn’t a mistake; that is what learning feels like. We don’t expect perfection here. We’re just here to help you find your footing.
I don’t teach Tai Chi as a performance or a rigid ritual. I teach it as a practical tool for your daily life. My goal isn’t to make you look like a martial arts master; it’s to make sure you feel steady when you reach for a shelf or walk down a flight of stairs.
1. We Build from the Ground Up
We don’t start with complex hand movements. We start with your feet. If your foundation isn't solid, nothing else matters. We spend the first 20 hours of your journey just finding your "roots."
2. We Embrace the "Wobble"
In this studio, a wobble isn't a failure—it’s data. It tells us where your balance is shifting. We use those moments to learn how to "catch" ourselves, building real-world confidence that stays with you after you leave the floor.
3. We Focus on "Functional Flow"
Every move we practice is designed to improve your coordination, lubricate your joints, and calm your nervous system. We move slow so that your body has time to actually listen to what your brain is telling it to do.
4. No One is a "Lost Cause"
Whether you’re 40 or 90, and whether you've been "clumsy" since a child, my approach is the same: patience, repetition, and a sense of humor.
What to Wear

Common worries, cleared up.
"I have zero coordination. I'm a lost cause."
"Actually, you're our favorite kind of student. Most people think coordination is a 'gift' you're born with, but it's really just your brain and your feet learning to talk to each other. We start with the 'alphabet' of movement so your body can finally learn the language at its own pace."
"I have no balance. I'm afraid I'll fall."
"That is exactly why we are here. Balance isn't a 'setting' you're born with; it’s a muscle we train. We start with very small, stable movements and keep 'one foot on the dock' until you feel secure. We aren't here to test your balance—we’re here to help you build it."
"I have bad knees."
"Then you’re in the right place. We specialize in "Low Impact" everything. We adapt the art to your body, not the other way around.
"I can't remember the moves."
"Neither could I for my first 50 hours! Tai Chi isn't a memory test. Repetition is our best friend, and we learn together.
"I’m not flexible."
"Perfect. Tai Chi isn't about touching your toes; it’s about feeling the floor beneath them.
